Hello everyone!  Sorry for the lack of updates to the site.  We have been having problems with the site due to its size and are in the process of trying to fix them.  The database for this site was written years ago and was one of the first of its kind on the internet.  We know the sim racing world has slowed down a bit in regard to NASCAR Racing 2003 and the lawsuits that have surrounded the new scab company planning to release something, sometime.  :)    Based on some reports though, the status of sites like simracecar.com are in jeopardy because of the acts of a few bad apples trying to ruin the sim racing world.  Of course we will not let this happen and are planning to change the site in the near future with all new features and a more organized database.

A heads up to everyone now though that uses the site.  Continue to do so until you notice any changes.  It would be wise to upload your current car file now in case there are future problems in regard to uploading.  There may be some down time in the future that would prevent some to upload their paintjobs but we will try to work through this until the fixes are in place.

We plan to remain with NASCAR in following the official licensed software for the sport.  At this moment they have received some flak due to the release of their first real simulation.  Over time we are confident that they will be the new pioneers to the sport of sim racing and continue its furthered growth.  We focus mainly on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series officially licensed by NASCAR.  New templates for the new 2006 chassis will be available as well for the Ford Fusion, Monte Carlo and Charger designed by myself.  I do want to give kudos to Brian Simpson and the thousands of downloads of his templates that we have made for you.  We will continue to leave this templates hosted here at SRC through team lightspeeds site.  We could never take those down anyway in fear of being shot, :).  Many of you have downloaded Brian's templates for years and I am personally glad we could help get them to you.  They are still works of art and downloaded daily by users from around the world.

On a final note, many have written in about donations to the site and other kind and wonderful gestures.  All I can say personally is THANK YOU.  We have vowed to never take a dime from our visitors and plan to never do so.  We started this site to help out the sim racing world and to achieve a "yellow pages" style of paintjob hosting for all sim racers in the world.  We will continue to do our best and once again apologize for any unseen future errors in regard to the site.  As stated, nobody is going to stop the growth of this sport and now with officially licensed NASCAR software, I only see the new future of the sport to be great, and more exciting then ever before.
